A little more about VOSH-ONE...

VOSH-ONE’s first trip was to San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua, back in the mid 1990s. Since then, VOSH-ONE teams and individual members have served in Nicaragua, El Salvador, Cost Rica, Guatemala, Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, India , Romania, and Armenia. We are proud to note that one of our Chapter founders, Harry Zeltzer, OD, of Ipswich, MA, serves as Executive Director and webmaster of our parent organization, VOSH/INTERNATIONAL. Bina Patel, OD, our VOSH-ONE secretary, is Faculty Advisor to students at the New England College of Optometry (NECO) who are interested in participating in VOSH activities and also serves on the Board for VOSH/INTERNATIONAL.

When the New England College of Optometry took the term NECO for its acronym, VOSH-NECO changed its name to VOSH-ONE to avoid confusion. Despite the name change, we remain the same dedicated Chapter of VOSH/INTERNATIONAL and we are proud of our ongoing collaborations with both faculty and optometry students at NECO.

To support the future of VOSH, VOSH-ONE recently established two permanent $750 scholarships for optometry students at NECO who are active members of the student VOSH-ONE chapter (SVOSH-ONE) and plan to continue their involvement in VOSH after graduating from optometry school.
